Dr. Lefaivre contributes excellence in teaching, research, and clinical care to the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma in the Department of Orthopaedics.

Her clinical interests include care of the injured patient, and the reconstruction of post-traumatic conditions and deformity. She also has an interest and specific expertise in the minimally invasive treatment of pelvic and acetabulum injuries and the treatment of post-traumatic conditions of the pelvis.

Her research has earned her a reputation as an expert in the measurement of outcome following trauma, as well as the longitudinal trajectory of recovery following injury. She is the PI of a large multi-centre RCT which is ongoing.

Dr. Lefaivre is a dedicated educator, and the recipient of the UBC Resident Teaching Award in 2019. She has supervised more than 100 peer reviewed presentations and publications for residents and fellows. She also brings an interest and expertise in issues related to diversity in Surgery.
