Mike has been involved in digital innovation and created the FRCSOrtho website after gaining his Fellowship exams to the Royal College of Surgeons.
Mike is consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital (Cambridge University Hospitals Trust). Mike is part of the orthopaedic trauma unit caring for multiply injured patients with complex surgical needs. His specialist interest is in lower limb trauma surgery and foot and ankle surgery. Mike is also a consultant within the Major Trauma Service at the hospital which delivers pan-speciality care to the multiply injured patient.
Mike completed a fellowship with the team at at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital focusing on foot and ankle surgery, he received a BOFAS travelling fellowship award for foot and ankle surgery in 2019.
Prior to this he was able to work with the major trauma and limb reconstruction team at the Royal London Hospital.
Mike completed his speciality training in the East of England, his core training in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, and his junior and medical school training in Liverpool.
Mike has a postgraduate certificate in medical education (PgCert Med Ed).
Mike enjoys running, cycling and skiing. Mike has three young children (Beatrice, Rupert and Margot) and is exceptionally grateful for the patience his wife displays when he is forever coming up with new ideas for projects!
