Lisa's MSc thesis concerned the kinematics of wrist replacement surgery. She obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons with a special interest in Orthopaedic and Trauma surgery in 2004 and then went on to further subspecialty training in Hand Surgery in Oxford and Trauma Surgery in Seattle. After six months as a locum consultant in Reading she took up post in Brighton in July 2006.

Since working in Brighton, Lisa has helped to introduce an electronic system to manage trauma services and has re-organised hand trauma provision to provide a consultant led service to patients across the region. The recently-launched Sussex Hand Surgery website provides patient centred information on all aspects of the care that Lisa and her other hand surgery colleagues undertake

Lisa is married to a Consultant Physician who works in Hastings and Eastbourne. They are both kept on their toes by their three lively boys who are great fun. She feels a healthy body contributes to a balanced life and tries to keep fit with jogging and cycling. More recently she has taken up hockey at a local club. These help to offset the effects of consuming her husband’s excellent culinary offerings.
