Upon graduating from Bristol Medical School in 1999 I remained in Bristol initially teaching and demonstrating anatomy to medical and dental students before finishing junior surgical training in the South West.
I undertook orthopaedic and trauma surgical training in Wessex, during which time I developed an interest in lower limb arthroplasty (joint replacement).
Following this I moved to Exeter for a fellowship at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hopspital, a department renowned for its development of the Exeter hip replacement and revsion technique of impaction bone grafting.
I then undertook a further fellowship in Oxford at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. During this fellowship I worked with the sarcoma and reconstructive hip surgeons and developed my knoweldge and skills in managing primary and metastatic bone tumours, as well as revision arthroplasty surgery.
I have an interest in infected joint replacements and work closely with the microbiology department and have with Dr Jerwood set up protocols and MDT meetings for managing these complex cases.
Since moving to Chichester in 2011 my practice consists predominantly of primary and revision hip surgery and knee arthroplasty (joint replacement surgery), but I remain part of the on-call orthopaedic team, dealing with trauma and complex orthopaedics.
In addition, I am the college surgical tutor and have a significant role in managing the junior and senior surgical trainees training programmes and education.
