Alex Ramsden is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon who has worked for 10 years in the Oxford Bone Infection Unit. He has a special interest in orthopaedic infection and was the first Plastic Surgeon to complete the EBJIS travelling fellowship in 2018. He is a member of the weekly bone infection MDT clinic and has weekly joint lists with orthopaedic teams for reconstruction of chronic osteomyelitis, PJI and FRI. Plastic Surgeons are involved in around 25% of cases passing through the Bone Infection Service in Oxford. He trained in the UK and Australia before taking up a post in Oxford.
He is currently clinical director for Plastic Surgery in Oxford. Other notable activities include working in the Antarctic for a year and swimming the English Channel.
