I graduated from Edinburgh in 2000, BST in Leeds and HST in Stoke/Oswestry. My fellowship was at the Sick Kids in Toronto in 2010 and I started as a consultant at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire in 2011.

My main interests are CP and neuromuscular conditions. I helped set up the Cerebral Palsy Integrated Pathway (CPIP) in England following on from its successful implementation in Scotland. We now have over 4,000 children in the database and it’s growing rapidly. More info on www.cpipuk.org

I won the national BOTA trainer of the year award in 2012 and am really keen on our trainees getting the most out of their time with us in Coventry. This is especially relevant due to the pandemic. My mantra is that in a teaching hospital, trainees should do everything possible and under the direct tutelage of a consultant. Minimal unsupervised and assisting cases. Nearly 100% should be supervised trainer scrubbed. If you can’t/won’t train, you don’t get a trainee.

My research interests are in the population monitoring of CP and related conditions, with particular reference to their musculoskeletal care. I sit on the BSCOS research committee.
